One innovative idea for Ontrack ERP School,if they take all the students for a lunch or a dinner once in a week some where in a resturant it can refresh all the students mind, because you know it is a huge preasure to get certified.VALID ONLY FOR THE STUDENTS AND FACULTIES.
Thank you.

All the faculties are good in Ontrack Erp School. They are working hard for us from the first day to get us certified. But someone is really working hard for us,in the faculties and ontrack should be proud for that person.
It can be possible for the regular student to come on any of the two days between Saturday or Sunday if it is needed?
Before Certification Exam Ontrack should take a exam, which is as same as ONLINE Certification Exam. That can help the students for the exam.
What are the JOB POSSIBILITIES after certification?
Faculties are very friendly that is helping all the students.

Careers after SAP Business One Training

What will become of me after taking up training in SAP Business One?".

From the above queries, it is obvious that there are some misconceptions on how a training class works and it is still not clear as to what benefit or purpose a training course offers. After taking up SAP Business One you can become any one of the following:
a. Business Process Analyst
b. Pre-Sales Consultant
c. Implementation Consultant
d. Solutions Development Consultant

You might know how the business works and know who to talk to, but what is more important is that you should be able to engage the key person/s in a substantive conversation so that you can extract the information that you need. If you do not have these skills then expect tough times ahead. More often than not, the people that you will encounter during this phase of the project are pre-occupied with things other than your interests. Moreover, you must also know how to validate the facts gathered without offending the person from which you got the information. Again, the SAP Business One training class will not provide you the techniques in drawing out vital information from interviewees. There are specific soft skills training classes for that. The learning center however will provide implementation guides and will give pointers on which data is relevant in system configuration such as building the master data, creating marketing documents, designing reports, and formulating queries. With this knowledge, you will know what you need and you will get it more efficiently.
To summarize the above, SBO training will not spoon-feed you to become an expert in business analysis or implementation Processes but it will definitely help you in becoming one.

(*some matter has been taken from a different Blog.)

SAP R3 or SAP B1 Training? ...The Question still follows…….

In the first blog about SAP Business One Training I differentiated it from SAP R3 in brief with regards to the technical aspects. Further the answer is again dependent on two areas of consideration namely; 1) Relevance, and 2) Cost.
1. You should asses both trainings which has more relevance to your current domain of operation i.e. your current working areas and experience. By definition, training is a form of education, it is designed to bridge the knowledge and skills gap of a person and therefore it must serve said purpose. In choosing the best SAP training course then, you must know how wide the difference between your theoretical and practical know-how is.
When you have already pegged your baselines you then proceed to determine if the topics that will be covered by the training will be able to satisfy the disparity. This can be done by getting the course curriculum and researching for the specific topics that will be tackled by the course.
SAP R3 Training offers specific courses per module, so choose the module that is most significant to you. In taking up SAP R3 it is very helpful if you are already a user and somewhat familiar in navigating through it. People who are in need of this training are usually those who have undergone user training in their current jobs, became key implementers and now would like to further their knowledge by being solutions consultants.
SAP B1 however, is of a broad-spectrum approach encompassing Logistics, Finance and the technical aspects especially on customizing reports and user-defined fields and queries. Unlike SAP R3 however, SAB B1 is simpler to use and quite manageable to configure. Most accountants, persons with finance, logistics, and supply chain background or ERP implementers take up this training course because it is a compact yet powerful business solution.

The training that is suitable for you should be the one that answers all if not most of your requirements.

2. Cost of the training, like it or not this is a big factor. You need to search for authorized SAP training providers that can deliver the course that is suited for you at the cost that is within your budget. Usually the SAP in your respective country conducts training for Business Partners and the Business Partners are the ones who are authorized to provide training to private individuals. In either case you must be sure that the Training Provider is an authorized SAP Education Partner .
SAP R3 Training is more expensive than SAP B1. This is because SAP R3 is more complicated and requires more number of contact training hours. The longer the contact training hours the greater the cost to run the class and thus the amount of training fee follows. This fact however, should not deter you from taking the training if it is more appropriate for you.
SAP B1 training costs lower as it is straight forward and requires shorter contact training hours but it does not mean that you will learn less. More topics are covered as the course curriculum is driven by the business process and not per module. The SAP B1 training courses are also role specific and therefore the length of the training and the modules that you need to undertake depends on what you want to become after the training.

To sum it all up, it is not fitting to compare SAP R3 and SAP B1 training because each has its own merits. And said merits are very relative on the individual making the assessment. Know first your purpose so that you will be able to determine the significance of the training then add in the cost factor. Choose the training course which fits best with your requirements.

Sap Business One Reports...A Brief Overview

Design Custom Reports
Advanced design options in the report designer extend your
ability to compose reports and work with standard Microsoft
Excel functions and interfaces. The report designer makes it
easy to create custom parameters, formulas, and layouts and
integrate them into your report templates. In addition, you
can use charts and graphs in Microsoft Excel to create sophisticated
dashboards that can be used for management and administrative
reporting in your business. Finally, use the report
designer to execute and view finished reports. Report output
is generated based on current data, so you always have an
up-to-date view of your organization.

Organize Your Reports
Use the report organizer function in XL Reporter to manage
and organize report definitions, report outputs, and report
books. The report organizer allows all reports to be refreshed
at scheduled times. You can view and execute reports within
the main menu of SAP Business One and thereby simplify report
creation. Distribute reports by easily packaging them into
report books and sending them via e-mail to selected users.
Simplify report generation and get the information you need
to gain full insight into your business. From ad hoc reports
to detailed financial statements, SAP Business One helps
you access company data and generate the right reports,
whenever needed.

Why SAP B1 for SMBs??

Any company looking for integrated and real-time solution with a secure future should consider SAP Business One seriously. As it is supported by SAP, it benefits from the commitment and experience of the world's largest and most successful ERP software company.

The SAP Business One Vanilla Model is structured of 13 Modules which are designed to meet the core business processes. The Modules are as mentioned below
1) Administration Module which is for configuration
2) Financials Module which is for the accounting and financial activities
3) Sales Opportunities Module which is for tracking the existing customers and potential amounts
4) Sales Module which is for entry of orders, shipping and invoicing
5) Purchasing Module which is for issuing of the purchase orders are issuing and receving goods into inventory
6) Business Partners Module which is for maintaining and contacting the Business Partners (customers, vendors, and leads)
7) Banking Module which is for cash receipts and payouts
8) Inventory Module which is for Inventory control, valuation and management
9) Production Module which is for defining the bill of materials and tracking the manufacturing process
10) MRP Module which is for purchase and production planning
11) Service Module which is for managing the after-service products
12) HR Module which is for maintaining the employee information
13) Reports Module which is for generation of the system-default and user- defined reports on-screen tables or as printouts

While Business One is quick to implement and is affordable, because it is designed for small to medium sized businesses, it does not offer the same level of functionality of the high-end SAP products or even many tier-2 products. In most cases, though, the inherent flexibility of Business One allows a more acceptable work-around than may be expected if you are prepared to invest a bit more in customizing the product.
As an example, the standard Business One Financial module does not provide a ready-to-use approval process for supplier payments i.e. a user who has access to creating a payment does not need to get another's approval before paying a supplier. Using SQL scripts and the built-in Alerts function, though, it is possible to provide a measure of control for this process.
Another example is that the Purchasing module of Business One does not formally support prior stages to a purchase order e.g. purchase indent, nor tracking. It starts directly from "Purchase Order". However the approval process provided for purchase orders means that an unapproved "purchase order" can be created. This can function as a "requisition" until it has been approved. Changes made to the "Purchase Order" during the process are fully tracked. Further work can be also be done with MRP and the Planning Data in the Inventory module to manage purchasing requirements.
You can define a catalogue that matches item codes to part numbers used by suppliers and customers but there is no link between Items and Business partners directly out of the box. Again such links can be defined using the customization tools.
Integration with third party applications requires considerable effort utilizing the SDK and the DI_API. Stability is as good as or better than for comparable, new generation, offerings. A good general policy for any product is not to be the first to upgrade to the new version - leave this to others. With SAP Business One 2006, things seem to have settled down considerably.
Third party add-ons should be added carefully. Apart from the cost, they will require additional system resources to maintain an acceptable performance level.
In short, don't expect Business One to do everything. But speak to a SAP Business Partner before ruling it out and you may be pleasantly surprised to find there is a workable solution to your perceived gaps.

SAP Business One.........???

For begginners and students-
SAP Business One- an integrated ERP solution provided by the world's largest ERP solution provider SAP specifically for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB, SME).
SAP Business One consists of applications for Financial, Distribution, CRM, Manufacturing, MRP, HR and Services.

13) Reports Module which is for generation of the system-default and user- defined reports on-screen tables or as printouts
SAP provides optional add-ons at no extra charge for applications such as fixed assets, synchronization with MS Outlook and advanced forms design. Perhaps the most exciting add-on in this category is the XL Reporter reporting tool. With preset metadata, a drag and drop design and over 80 starter reports, it is extremely easy to learn and use. It uses MS Excel for formatting and comes with a choice of ready-to-use templates or you can put your knowledge of Excel to work to create your own.
The scope of the product is further extended by over 100 third party add-ons. Some are developed using SAP's Software Development Kit which results in a consistent 'look and feel' to Business One. Some add-ons have their integration with Business One certified by SAP.
The product has a relatively modern and 2-tier architecture. It offers users a high level of flexibility with the ability to create a virtually unlimited number of user-defined fields and tables, user-configurable alerts and workflow processes. Users can control to a significant extent the display of data on transaction screens, configure look-up windows and set data access security. Most of this tailoring can be achieved with no formal IT skills.
Bundled with Business One are templates that provide out-of-the-box integration with mySAP Business Suite. This makes it an ideal solution for small subsidiaries of large enterprises that use the larger SAP systems. SAP has also seen to it that the General Ledger, audit ability and security are all of a standard to suit the needs of a demanding large parent company.

Very commonly and frequently asked!!!!

Many student and Proffesionals have a common Query................Is SAP R3 and SAP B1 completly different???

A strict "No" or "Yes" cannot complete the answer. SAP Business One is SAP's offering for the small and medium size companies while R/3 is for the large enterprises. SAP Business Oneis a perfect fit for companies with less complex business processes while R/3 is for companies with complex business processes. Essentially, the two products differ in terms of functionalities. For example, you don't have vendor evaluation in SAP BusinessOne (based on the premise that businesses are not too complex to demand evaluating vendors) - that's my opinion! However, in a large enterprise, it might be a requirement with high priority. This "incapability" doesn't mean a "drawback" because SAPBusiness One has SDK (Software Development Kit) that allows you to develop additional functionalities based on business requirements.

Sap R3 Vs Sap Business One

The non technical answer to this question is that; SAP Business One is SAP's offering for small and mid size companies, while R/3 is SAP's offering for large companies. This is especially true functionality-wise. More to it, the system architecture differs considerably and that hopefully supports the difference in functionality complexities (of SAP R/3 when compare with SAP Business One).SAP Business One is software that was bought over by SAP and it has been greatly enhanced over time, however, not much has been done to its architecture. SAP R/3 is indigenous to SAP and it has also undergone various re-engineering over time, especially as it relates to its architecture. A fantastic testimony to this position is in the architecture of its successor, SAP ECC.First, it is expedient to state that both SAP Business One and SAP R/3 are built on the concept of client/server architecture. So how do they differ??SAP Business One as said earlier is based on client/server architecture, howbeit a "2 tier": strictly, clients and server. This technology is often referred to as a fat client. This is because all processing and business logic are carried out on the client. The result therefore is a system where logon and load balancing is a mirage. For more on SAP Business One's system architecture, see a prior post: Challenges of the Fat Client Technology.SAP R/3 is based on a three tier client/server technology. Typically, it is made up of three functionally distinct layers namely: the user interface, business logic and database. The user interface, which is otherwise known as the presentation server displays the interface for users' communication with the SAP system. It is often referred to as the SAP GUI. As a matter of fact, it is a program called sapgui.exe. The application server is where the business logic and data manipulation takes place. Data processing, SAP administration tasks and client request/feedback management are handled within the business layer. The database layer is synonymous to the database server and it typically acts as a data repository for tables and other database objects and structures.Ideally, an R/3 system is composed of one database server, one or more application servers and one or more presentation servers. SAP Business One on the other hand is composed of a database server and one or more presentation servers.
